    I am so glad I found your channel! At the age of 66 and learning digital photography over the last 10 years or so, I have decided to go back to the future with my photography. I picked up a T70 for about $10.00 in excellent condition at a yard sale about a year ago never really expecting to do anything with it. All these digital AI photo editors on the market today has drawn me back to my junior year in high school photography class in 1975. This is an excellent video on how to use the T70. Appreciate you taking the time to make this instructional video. I am going to subscribe to your channel!

    Very informative video. You covered the EF features quite nicely. I have two of these great cameras and prefer them over my A-1. I know this video is 4 years old, bit it is still quite relevant. Been shooting these Canon film cameras since the 70’s and still love them. Again… good job!

    I'm 72 and watch videos on any channels about cameras I'm interested in. I was a Pentax fan during my army career and began with the Pentax SL and clip on meter then SP ES ME MX LX 67 and 645. I only used 120 not 220 and my best ever was Fuji velvia in my 67 and I made Cibachrome prints in the darkroom which were outstanding quality. ❤

    A little known hack for the T90. Normally the camera can shoot 4.5 frames per second, but if you push in the depth of field button, the camera can then shoot 5 fps. Of course shooting at smaller apertures can be tricky, but at maximum aperture it’s not a problem at all.

    My dad found his old t50 in our basement in some random carboard box, sadly something with the shutter is stuck however so it doesnt work, we even bought some film. But it is still very pretty, its lying on my desk next to me, I am planning on buying another one from ebay because of how cheap they are now, having it repaired would be a waste of money.

    • @thephotographersbag
      @thephotographersbag Місяць тому

      Hi, it could be that only the display is not working...so you hear a difference in shutter speed between the widest and smallest aperture settings? If so then the auto mode is working but not telling you the set shutter speed, Does the display change in manual selection of shutter speed?

    • @stephca21
      @stephca21 Місяць тому

      Thank you so much for replying, it was long shot 😊 I just tested it and yes, I hear a difference depending on the aperture and just after the shot, or maybe better saying while it's been taking, it displays the shutter speed🎉 But the 0- always there means they are all getting overexposed? Maybe the problem is me lol

    • @thephotographersbag
      @thephotographersbag Місяць тому

      Hi, I think the system is working just fine and the display has an issue, this was one of the first cameras with this type of display, I don't think you will get overexposed frames, give it a try with some film ..

    Loved your video man!! I have two superTL’s and a MTL5 as my main analog camera, I started with an LTL3 but it started having light leaks. Had two MTL3’s but they sadly broke. But so far the superTL and MTL5’s are going strong. The only thing I miss with the superTL is a split microprism, it would make focussing a lot easier, especially with wide lenses (35mm and lower) Sadly the light meters on my superTL’s have both kicked the bucket, so I resorted to using a TTartisan light meter that I’ve mounted in a cold shoe on the tripod mount. All in all I love their design and ruggedness

    I believe the lever to the right of the lenses might be a multi-exposure activation lever.. hence the red dot as a warning sign. Just got my Va model out to check.. but it seems to have film in so won't try now. So, that being the case there is no worry about accidental multi exposing of frames. You said the top f3.2 lens was the taking lens.. a slight slip up obviously, as the f3.5 Xenan is obviously the taking lens. My 5a sits perfectly on its base feet. Your 5 seems to have some kind of adapter plate fitted to the tripod mount compared to mine. Maybe that is the issue. My 5a takes a kit that enables 16 frames on 120 film format to be shot. I have the adapter set somewhere but not seen it in about 16 years. It features a removable gearing convertion component that is switched out on the right hand side of the body just to the front of film advance knob. Ah, yes.. you called the focus knob a button.. always been a knob to me. I did have a Yashicamat 125G that I liked very much.. but someone borrowed it in the dim and distant past and guess what.. it never got returned. Still missing it. 😢 Ah well.. only 2 frames shot on this film in the Rolleicord by the look of it. Seems I have some shooting to do. Doesn't say.. but I guess it will be FP4+. Oh, yes. Mine used to have the adapter that locks into the PC flash socket that enabled it to be used with shorter reach pc plugs if the flashgun used didn't have either a longer reach terminal, yours does.. or didn't feature a lockable-in Rollei compatible lead. 😊

    The Pen EE was my first real camera back in 77- I took photos at Genesis and Floyd shows at Earls Court with it - I then realised I needed more than a good snapshot - I was a student at the time - so, I sold my Pen, and bought a PENTAX k1000, which was more versatile and taught me everything about photography. I still have the K1000. At the time, It was a great camera to learn about the science of photography from.

    The “blue button” EMs were the earlier models. The chrome were the later ones. No significant change except the rewind lever was made a little bit more robust since it seemed the earlier ones tended to break.
